A Honeymoon of Unparalleled Luxury and Serenity

After months of planning, what newlyweds desire most is a sense of calm and relaxation. For many, the idea of starting their marriage with a whirlwind of sightseeing in a bustling city like Rome might seem exciting—but for some, it’s more exhausting than fulfilling. That was certainly the case for us, as we opted to skip the chaos of the Eternal City and instead head directly to the Miramalfi Hotel, nestled on the Amalfi Coast.

The Miramalfi is not just any hotel—it’s the highest-rated property in the region according to Tripadvisor. And with good reason. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty, a welcome relief after the challenging roads of the Amalfi Coast. As soon as our taxi dropped us off, a staff member took our suitcases and guided us into the hotel’s embrace.

We were handed glasses of champagne and led to a small balcony overlooking one of the most stunning vistas we’ve ever seen. The views were so breathtaking that even 20 minutes later, we still found ourselves marveling at the panoramic expanse of the Mediterranean Sea.

Our suite was nothing short of extraordinary. The entrance featured a long corridor lined with mirrored wardrobes, complete with a Dyson hair dryer. The living area had a sofa and coffee table, where a “Congratulations” dessert and bottle of champagne were waiting for us. Stepping through an arch, we entered a bedroom adorned with heart-shaped balloons and a bed decorated with flower petals. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a massive bathtub that felt more like a jacuzzi. However, the true highlight was the balcony, which offered sweeping views of the sea from two sunbeds, a table and chairs, or a cozy sofa.

Despite our initial plans to explore nearby towns like Ravello and Capri, we quickly realized that staying at the hotel was the best choice. The Miramalfi is just a five-minute walk or a free shuttle ride away from the center of Amalfi, making it easy to venture out when needed. We visited the historic Amalfi Cathedral, shopped for souvenirs, and enjoyed local delicacies such as pizza, gelato, and limoncello. One morning, we also took a private boat tour to see more of the coastline from the comfort of a yacht.

But the real magic of the Miramalfi lies in its beach club—a saltwater pool and private beach built into the cliffs. With only 35 rooms, the hotel offers an intimate and personalized experience. The staff goes above and beyond, ensuring that every detail is perfect. They lay out towels on our chosen sun loungers, serve complimentary snacks, and even bring ice-cold water and refreshing watermelon slushies while we relax under the sun.

While the cocktails served at the Azur Lounge Bar are a bit pricey, the hotel offers a free aperitivo through daily cocktail classes. We tried one session and sampled a unique take on a Negroni, as well as a signature cocktail featuring red pepper syrup—unexpected but surprisingly delicious.

Even the gym offers a view of the ocean, allowing guests to work out while taking in the beauty of the Med. The service and food at the hotel are equally exceptional. Breakfast at Donna Emma La Cucina, the main restaurant, includes a wide buffet with fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, and baked goods. But the real treat is the attentive staff, who bring coffee, juice, and pastries right to our table.

For dinner, we opted for a fine dining tasting menu with wine pairing, which included eight courses of exquisite Italian cuisine. The homemade pasta, rich with cheese and beef sauce, was a standout. Eating such incredible food while gazing at the sea made for a truly romantic evening.

It’s no wonder the Miramalfi is considered one of the top hotels on the Amalfi Coast. Whether you're looking for luxury, serenity, or breathtaking views, this hidden gem offers an unforgettable honeymoon experience.
