Govt Launches Hajj Packages with Minimum Cost of Tk 4.67 Lakh
Government Announces Three Official Hajj Packages for Pilgrims
The government has unveiled three official Hajj packages, offering a range of options for pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia. The cost of these packages varies, with the lowest priced at Tk 4.67 lakh and the highest reaching Tk 6.90 lakh. These details were shared by Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain during a press briefing held at his ministry on Sunday.
Overview of Hajj Package-1 (Special)
Hajj Package-1 is designed for those seeking premium accommodation. Pilgrims will be housed within a maximum distance of 700 meters from the outer courtyard of the Haram Sharif in Makkah and in the Markazia area of Madinah. Accommodation will be shared among a maximum of five people per room, with six attached bathrooms available.
During the stay in Mina, pilgrims will reside in tents located in Zone-2. Meals will be provided by the Moallem, and D+ category services will be available in both Mina and Arafah. This package is ideal for those who want a more comfortable and convenient experience during their pilgrimage.
Details of Hajj Package-2
Hajj Package-2 offers a slightly more affordable option. Pilgrims will be accommodated within 1.2 km to 1.8 km from the outer courtyard of the Haram Sharif in Makkah and in the Markazia area of Madinah. Each room will house up to six people, with attached bathrooms. Tents in Zone-2 of Mina will also be provided, along with meals from the Moallem and D category services in Mina and Arafah.
This package costs approximately Tk 5,58,881. Additionally, room upgrades to 2- or 3-seaters and short-stay package options are available under this plan, subject to additional charges. The standard stay for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia ranges between 35 to 47 days, while short-stay packages last between 22 and 30 days.
Introduction of Hajj Package-3
Hajj Package-3 is a newly introduced budget-friendly option. It includes accommodation in the Azizia area of Makkah and outside the Markazia area of Madinah. Each room will accommodate a maximum of six people, and tents will be set up in Zone-5 of Mina. Food will be provided by the Moallem, and D category services will be available in Mina and Arafah.
Air-conditioned buses will be arranged for daily travel to the Haram Sharif for the five daily prayers. This is the first time the government has arranged accommodation for pilgrims in the Azizia area, marking a significant development in making the pilgrimage more accessible.
Additional Options for Pilgrims
In addition to the government-managed packages, a "General Hajj Package for Private Agencies" has been finalized. This package costs Tk 5.09 lakh per person. Private Hajj agencies that adopt this government-approved package will be allowed to announce two additional packages of their own, providing more flexibility for travelers.
AFM Khalid Hossain also mentioned that the minimum daily food expenditure per pilgrim is estimated at 35 Saudi Riyals. Pilgrims are advised to carry sufficient funds to cover food expenses and make purchases independently during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
